27- Reading Reflection 3
This post will be about the wonderful book I read this week. The book was “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” by Peter Drucker. I really found a lot of aspects of this book interesting. Most of the book had to to do about where entrepreneurship has been and where it is going in the digital age. The general argument of the book is how business affects our day lives and if it is innovative or not. I think it makes a very strong claim that innovation has captured a broader audience in the field recently. This spark of creativity has revitalized the way we look at our field.
I relate this too my business I look at my business through an innovative eye. This means I want to push design that allows others to think beyond the product. People are very materialistic and I feel this takes away from creative culture in general. We are all creatives, we just have to find what is our special sauce. It is interesting to read this book at the end of this semester. It is a book about evolution and I feel like I have evolved in this course. We started off very abstract in this course and now it has become more concrete. My biggest surprise moment when I was reading this book was when the author started to tell his true story about the business side of innovation. I was not expecting to hear things like innovation is decreasing because of computers. This would prove my point that the digital age is destructive to an extent.

Baron,
ReplyDeleteThis book seems quite interesting. It seems backwards that computer could take away innovation at my first thought. After thinking about this for a minute, I can start to see where this statement could come from. computers in a way make us pretty lazy. When we have something that can do everything for us why do we need to innovate more? I never thought about that digital age like that. I have always thought that social media has been quite destructive to pour society. While it does have its benefits, at its core it is very evil in my eyes. Thank for this post. I will pick up this novel today!
